Health & Safety

What is the New Jersey Laborers' Health and Safety Fund? Construction is a dangerous business, one of the most dangerous. It's a challenge to keep people safe and healthy on and off the job, and no one can do it alone. That's why the Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA) and its signatory contractors founded the health and safety fund. Working together, the New Jersey Laborers' Health and Safety Fund (NJLHSF) helps save time, money, and most importantly, lives. We offer an array of services designed to enhance contractor competitiveness and protect the health and safety of Laborers and their families.

  • Perform job site analysis to identify hazards and assist in developing effective solutions
  • Provide model safety programs
  • Assist with OSHA compliance
  • Provide instructional materials
  • Research safety and health issues
  • Provide health services and information to members and their families
  • Design drug-free workplace programs
  • Monitor regulatory and legislative issues relating to safety and health
