LIUNA Vice President and Eastern Regional Manager Raymond M. Pocino offers the following statement regarding yesterday’s elections:
“I want to congratulate Governor Chris Christie for his overwhelming victory yesterday. New Jersey residents see in the governor what we see--an honest and ardent advocate for New Jersey and its residents, a man who is willing to tackle the hard problems and step up and lead in crisis. During the last four years, Chris Christie has worked with both parties to reform state government and made important investments in higher education and to our transportation infrastructure. These and other actions will benefit our residents and economy for years to come.
LIUNA feels yesterday’s election put New Jersey on solid footing moving forward. New Jersey will be well represented by strong leaders in both the governor’s office and the New Jersey General Assembly and State Senate. What’s more, hundreds of thousands of New Jersey workers will benefit by the long-overdue raising of the state’s minimum wage. Yesterday was a very good day for New Jersey.”
