1.
To go on the list you must register for work during the first 5
business days of the month. If you are coming in off a layoff you
may register at any time.
2.
If you are on the list, you must reregister during the first 5 business
days of the month or you will be dropped from the new list.
3.
The first 15 people on the list must shape in person at the union
hall from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. If you are not here you will be
charged with an unavailable. Be on time, most jobs go out between
6:30 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. Jobs will not be held for you to get there.
Call the hiring hall information line of
your local union at any time to find out if you are in the top
fifteen.
4.
Everyone else on the list must be at their listed telephone number
between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. If you are called and
are not there you will be charged with an unavailable.
5.
Anyone who is charged with a total of two unavailable/refusals (1
unavailable and 1 refusal, 2 unavailables or 2 refusals) will be
sent to the bottom of the list.
6.
You are allowed either two referrals or one referral of 5 days or
more. Once you get either 2 referrals or 5 days of work you will
go to the bottom of the list when you return.
7.
When you are laid off before you get 5 days of work you must reregister
on the out-of-work list by the sixth business day after your referral,
or next business day after you were laid off, whichever is later,
or you will be sent to the bottom of the list.
8.
If you are sent to a job and don't show up, or show up so late that
you are sent back by the contractor, or show up unprepared to work
and are sent back by the contractor, you will not be allowed back
on the list for 30 days.
9.
If
you claim a skill you don't have and are sent to a job for that
skill and are then sent back by the contractor because you did not
have that skill, you will not be allowed back on the list for 30
days.
10.
If you become suspended for non-payment of dues you will not be
sent to a signatory contractor until you are reinstated.
