Apprentice
Exemption/Work Hours Credit
To apply for an exemption (over 4,000 hours) or for work hours to
be credited on the Apprentice Program, one must provide the following
information:
1.
Payroll reports from employer or pay stubs documenting dates and
hours worked. W-2 will be accepted using the formula that yearly
gross income will be divided by the current starting apprentice
rate to get the hours worked.
2. And a letter from the employer stating that during the
work hours claimed, you actually worked as a construction laborer
with skills in areas such as concrete, masonry, scaffolding, pipe,
demolition, asphalt, etc.
3. Or a letter from the Local Union Business manager or
Agent stating that during the work hours claimed, you actually
worked as a construction laborer with skills in such areas a concrete,
masonry, scaffolding, pipe, demolition, asphalt, etc.
The
claimed work hours must have occurred in the last ten years. Work
hours claimed previous to ten years will not be accepted.
